This wine is dedicated to Fabivs de' Vecchis, bishop of Montalcino, who in 1672 built the Palazzo which houses the estate's headquarters and historic cellar. Grape varietal: 100 % Syrah. The French vines were planted in the “del Conte” vineyard where there is an excellent terroir and microclimate that are particurarly suited to this varietal. Fermentation and refinement: in steinless steel and glass concrete vats with temperature controlled trough cooling plates. Ageing: approximately 15 months in French and American oak barriques. Bottles produced: approximately 7.900, with an anti-counterfeiting hologram on the capsule Colour : intense ruby red Organoleptic characteristics : (14% vol.) the bouquet is intense, complex and persistent. Fruit-forward and spicy with hints of mature blackberry, done plum, cherry and vanilla. Warm, soft, well balanced and persistent. It expresses power, persistence, delicacy and great character. Service : open an hour before pouring and serve at 18°C (64,4° F) in large crystal wine glasses. Bottles should be kept in a horizontal position, far from light sources and protected from both extremes and changes in temperature. Food pairings : wine for important occasions it's also perfectly matched with stewed and grilled red meat, roasted lamb and mature cheeses.
